CIS Auctions (CIS Auctions, LLC, "CIS Auctions," "we," "us")

These terms cover your use of CIS Auctions' phone line, text messages, and website. Bidding, buying, and consigning are also governed by the terms of each auction, which are posted with that auction and take precedence for that sale.

Our services

CIS Auctions sells surplus vehicles, equipment, and goods at online auction on behalf of schools, municipalities, and other consignors. Our phone line is answered by an automated assistant and by our staff. You may ask for a person at any time.

SMS Terms

Program description. CIS Auctions sends text messages to customers who ask for them: for example, after a phone call, the pickup address, our phone number, and brief details of the auction you asked about. You may also text our number with a question about your call or your transaction, and we may reply by text. Messages come from CIS Auctions, from (810) 687-3812 or toll-free (888) 824-1241.

Consent. You agree to receive texts by asking for them during a call, or by texting our number. Consent is not a condition of buying, bidding, or consigning with us.

Message frequency. Varies with your activity. Most customers receive one to a few messages around a call or a transaction.

Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's standard messaging and data rates apply to every message sent and received. Check with your carrier for details.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to end all future texts from CIS Auctions. Every text we send includes this reminder. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed. To rejoin, ask us during a call or text START to our number.

Carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Messages may not be delivered where coverage is unavailable.

Privacy. How we handle your mobile number and messages is described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Calls and recording

Calls to and from CIS Auctions are recorded. Our greeting tells you the call is recorded and that you are speaking with an automated assistant. Information given by the automated assistant is drawn from the posted auction listing and our published policies; the terms posted with each auction govern in the event of any difference. Matters involving payment, reserves, invoices, consignments, and your account are handled by our staff.

Auction transactions

Registration, bidding, buyer's premium, payment, pickup deadlines, and consignment terms are set out in the terms posted with each auction and in your bidder or consignor agreement. Those documents govern each sale. Nothing said by phone or text changes them unless confirmed in writing by CIS Auctions.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use our phone line, text service, or website to send unlawful, abusive, or fraudulent messages, to interfere with our systems, or to misrepresent your identity.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Our phone and text services are provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CIS Auctions is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of these services, including delayed or undelivered messages or calls. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date above shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
